As many businessmen before me who have made the transition from small to medium sized business, we were faced with a tough decision. "Which ERP system will work best for my growing company?" After several months of research Global Distribution and Liquidation Inc. chose Icode Everest Advanced. Icode excels in many areas, but as we all know each business is unique and customization is inevitable, no business software is 100% complete "out of the box."

Unfortunately Icode was lacking in four major areas. First we found that the Icode ecommerce solution was unable to integrate with PayPal as a merchant system. Second the inability to send invoice, customer name and address information to our UPS Worldship Software as well as not returning tracking numbers back to Icode. Third there was no provision to conduct an inventory audit via barcode scanner based on stock area or bin location. The final and most important hurdle was a complete overhaul of the way in which we add inventory to the system. Icode's cumbersome and time consuming multi screen process for posting a new item in inventory was costing us thousands extra in data entry labor per week.

With the ERP budget being stretched to the limit, how are we going to get out of this potential nightmare? Faced with the realization that we needed to hire qualified programmers, we went in search of a third party software developer. Testing the waters we proposed only one project to Crystal Gears.
